Maurice Le
Scouëzec was born in Le Mans into an old established Breton family.
On joining the painters in the prestigious "Ecole de Paris"
in the twenties he rapidly became a figurehead of "Montparnasse".
In 1925 he fled from Paris and began a long journey which took him across
the African continent.
On his return to France he produced 8 frescoes which can be seen today
in the church of "St. Mards de Quilly" in Normandy.
He devoted the latter part of his life to religeous art and died in 1940.
