Tréal (679
Tréalais, 1991 hectares) |
|
Separated from Carentoir by the immense Bourdonnaye forest, Tréal is today a peaceful village where many vestiges furnish evidence that it was a once highly frequentated village. On "La Lande de Pie" (Magpie Moor), formally called Madry, stands a menhir. On this very moor a camp was set up by the Romans to keep watch over the road passing below (La Chaussée d'Aé). Places worth
a visit include The St Cornély chapel in the hamlet named "Le
vieux bourg", "Le moulin de Bonne Rencontre" (a corbelled
mill), "La croix St Fiacre du Couedic" (Latin cross) and "La
croix Jouanne près Cleu" (Maltese cross). |
